This qualification incorporates an award in preventing underage sales and is aimed at learners working in the retail industry, like convenience stores, forecourts, kiosks, off-licenses, hardware shops, fireworks retailers, supermarkets and general stores. It is an accredited qualification awarded by Highfield Qualifications; one of the UK’s leading awarding organisations for vocational qualifications, work-based learning, and apprenticeship qualifications. It is recognised by the industry, local authorities, and the police.
The award has two knowledge outcomes:
- Knowledge of the current legislation relating to the sale of age-restricted goods and services, including retail goods
- Knowledge of how to prevent unlawful sales of age-restricted products and services
This qualification is aimed at learners working in retail locations and who may find themselves confronted by under-age customers. It is particularly suited to front line staff in:
- Convenience stores
- Off Licences
- Kiosks
- Tobacconists
- Fireworks retailers
- Petrol forecourts
- Video or games shops
- Hardware stores
- Knife shops or armories
The qualification is suitable for staff working in England or Wales.
