The award has two knowledge outcomes:
- Knowledge of the current legislation relating to the sale of age-restricted goods and services, including body modification
- Knowledge of how to prevent unlawful sales of age-restricted products and services
This qualification is aimed at learners working in beauty salons, tanning shops, tattooists and other body modification service providers and who may find themselves confronted by under age customers. It is particularly suited to front line staff in:

- Manicure
- Nail treatments
- Acupuncture
- Tattooing
- Cosmetic piercing
- UV Light Treatments (eg Sunbeds)
- Body piercing
- Chiropody
- Electrolysis
- Facial treatments
- Teeth whitening
- Saunas and steam rooms
- Spa pools
- Waxing
- Laser treatment
- Intensed pulsed light treatement (IPL)
The qualification is suitable for staff working in England or Wales.
